Sant Pere Pescador is a municipality in the autonomous community of Catalonia, in the province of Girona. The town lies on the Fluvià River, which flows into the Gulf of Roses here. The estuary and most of the surrounding area up to the mouth of the La Muga River are part of the Aiguamolls de l'Empordà Natural Park, the second largest wetland in Catalonia. The long, wide sandy beach is considered one of the most beautiful bays in the Mediterranean and is the hallmark of this holiday resort. Sant Pere Pescador is therefore a popular destination for campers, active holidaymakers, sun worshippers, and water sports enthusiasts on the Costa Brava. Surfers in particular flock here, although kitesurfing and waterskiing are also possible on some stretches of beach. The surrounding area is also ideal for hiking and cycling.
